UNFORGETTABLE REUNION

The following was told me by a friend: We have always been a very close family that loved each other’s company. My sister had just finished a mission for the Church in Frankfurt, Germany and my parents scheduled a trip to go and meet her in that country when her assignment was finished. They had all planned to tour Europe and see many of the sights for the next three weeks. Unknown to my sister, my brother and I, both in our late teens,  were also scheduled to arrive the last two weeks. My sister was told that there just weren’t enough funds for us all to travel. She was disappointed but accepted the explanation.

After they had been together for a week, my father and mother told my sister that there was scheduled maintenance on our airport rental car and that Dad would have to return to the airport and get it fixed. Mom stayed with my sister and Dad picked us up at the airport. Our flight was a little late, so Dad had to stall my Sister and explain that they were having trouble fixing the car. My sister complained but resigned herself to waiting in the hotel room with Mom.

As we approached the hotel, my Dad told us boys to lag back about fifty feet so that our sister would get a real shock when we showed up. We could hear her berating the rental car company as we waltzed in with, “Hi Sis, what’s new!” I don’t think we’ve ever heard her scream so loud. It was a very happy moment, so much so that I don’t suppose we’ll ever forget it!
